Torrent falling from between peaks over 4000 ft high. Flows NE to McClellan Flats, at mouth of Chilkat River, 2.7 mi. NW of Green Point, on Chilkat Inlet, 19 mi. SW of Skagway, St. Elias Mts. 2 miles long.
Tlingit Indian name Haska or Khask, meaning "little falls," because of its torrential character, reported in 1912 by Louis Shotridge, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS). It was called Hask Falls by the International Boundary Commission (IBC) (1923, map 9).
