- For those choosing to hike into the lookout either guided or unguided, your reservation is ultimately for the lookout. It is a DIFFICULT hike, but it has been done by many people in all sorts of weather. We have had two guided hikes where the clients overestimated their abilities and if it was perfect weather, the guides could have gotten the clients in. But in poor weather it became a safety concern because of the client's skillset, and the guides had to advise the clients to abandon their approach. If you are booking the lookout and you want the option of a refund due to weather, you MUST book with the helicopter transport option. If the helicopter can't fly due to weather, it is a safety risk, and you will receive a full refund. Otherwise, we're going to believe you when we warn you and you assure us, you're a tough hiker and you can handle it. If you're unable to hike into the lookout there is no refund as you have made the lookout unavailable for your dates.
