HistoryNamed for Willard Winfield Rowlee, 1861-1923, professor of botany, Cornell University He was botanist for the Cushing Expedition to Glacier Bay in 1890. The name "Point Wachusett" was published by the American Geographical Society (Field, 1947, map).
