Robe River is a narrow river that runs from Robe Lake behind several houses and then under Richardson Highway then continues to the Lowe River shortly before it enters Port Valdez.
Though it is fairly narrow Robe River is deep enough to canoe down, however it passes through a lot of low hanging brush, and may be blocked by fallen trees.
Named in 1898 by Captain W. R. Abercrombie, USA, for a local prospector, Harvey Robe, who joined Abercrombie's party for a short time.
