HistoryNamed by members of the American Geographical Society Glacier Expedition of 1941 for Prentiss S. Baldwin, born in 1868, a practicing lawyer interested in geology, geography and natural history. In 1886 he visite d Muir Glacier and published two papers concerning his observations.
