Thunder Mountain lies just south of Denali Basecamp to the east of the Kahiltna Glacier. It's a long ridge that rises west to east topping out on a prominence know as Providence (10920).
HistoryThunder Mountain is the scene of one of the deadliest civilian incidents in Denali where Craig Steven Layson flying for K2 Aviation went down with four Polish tourist just below the ridge, Aug. 2018.
