HistoryLocal name reported in 1905. It is said to be named for "a man commonly called Rosy." The stream was called Clear Creek in 1903 by C. W. Wright, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and Rose Creek in 1905 by J. A. Flemer, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS). The Tlingit Indian name is reported to be H'Kudinaku."
