To access Sunshine Mountain you drive about 26 miles north and northwest of Haines, then cross over the steel bridge. The road has a Y stay to the right and keep going. The road will nearly Y, you can go straight or take a left. You may go either direction as the road loops over the mountain. Most of the mountain off the road is recovering forest with thick new growth.
AboutSunshine Mountain is a small mountain lacking alpine like the peak surrounding it, but it makes for a good little drive off the beaten path around Haines. It makes for good mountain biking as the road is an old logging road. From it you can get good views of the Klehini River.
If starting on the Tsirku River side you come down to join the road out to Porcupine.
