Middle Rock is fair-sized rock, in the middle of the mouth entering ,Port Valdez. Middle Rock can lie just below the water during high tide or well exposed at low tide.
It is often used as a sea lion haul out in July and August.
Descriptive name published in 1911 by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) on Chart 5519; so called because of its position in the channel.
