HistoryTransliteration in 1939 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) of "M(ys) perenosa," meaning "Transport Cape," given by Murashev in 1839 or 1840 and published in 1849 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1425. Baker (1906, p. 227) misapplied the name "Drying Point" (2 miles northeastward) to this location. See Drying Point.
