HistoryTranslation in 1910 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) of the name "M(ys) Obsykhayushchiy," given in 1839 or 1840 by Murashev and published in 1849 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1425. Baker (1906, p. 507) applied "Drying Point" to "Perenosa Point" and calls this feature "Portage Point." See Perenosa Point.
