Aleut name reported by Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 14), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "Z(aliv) Kisselen," or "Kisselen Bay," and by Father Veniaminov (1840, v. 1, p. 162) as "Kissyalyak." "Worsham Bay" by U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) in 1888.
