History of Staraya Bay

Russian name published as "Star Gavan" meaning "Old Harbor" by Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 26), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN). Baker (1906, p. 479) says that this name was probably erroneously applied to this location by Tebenkov and should have been applied to a small harbor near the northern entrance of Makushin Bay.
