At the N extremity of the Poovoot Range, its lower slopes extend NE 2.5 mi to Taphook Point in the W part of the N coast of Saint Lawrence Island, 20 mi. SE of Gambell.

History

Named for Taphook Point. Reported in 1949 by Major H. B. Allen, U.S. Air Force (USAF).
