Translation about 1882 by US@C&GS of "Otkroy Glaza"; published in 1853 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1494. Lieutenant Commander H. E. Nichols, U.S. Navy (USN), in 1891 Coast Pilot (p. 128). reported the name "Shoo Fly Rock" as being used by local navigators for this feature.
