History

Named by Lieutenant Woronkofski in 1837; published as "O(strov) Sv(iatoy) Paula, or "St Paul Island," on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1379 (1847). "Paul Island" was published in 1888 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS).
