HistoryNamed for Kashega Bay and published as "M(ys) Kashiga," or Cape Kashiga," by Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 26), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN). It was called "Kashuga Point" by U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) in 1888 and "Cape Kashega" by Baker (1906, p. 351).
