HistoryThe Russian name was published by Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 14, dated 1792), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "Zal(iv) Skhan" or "Skhan Bay." This bay was descriptively called "Twin Bay" by U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) in 1888.
