HistoryNamed in 1787 by Captain Nathaniel Portlock, RN. (Wagner, 1937, p. 389). This point was also called "Mys Siuchiy," meaning "sealion cape," in 1833 by the Russian navigator Ensign Vasiliev; "Mys Olgi" or "Olgi Cape" by Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 8), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN).
