HistoryDescriptive name given by W. H. Dall, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), in 1880 and published in the 1883 Alaska Coast Pilot (p. 187). Captain Vancouver anchored in this cove in 1784, but did not give it a name.
