In the Chugach Mountains, at the mouth of English Bay River, on the SW end of Kenai Peninsula, 10 mi SW of Seldovia, Chugach Mts. 1.2 miles wide.
HistoryThe Russians originally applied the name "Bukh[ta] Anglitskaya" (English Bay), to what is now called Port Graham probably because the area was mapped by the English (N. Port, 1789, map facing p. 102 and Tebenkov, 1852 map 5). Captain Nathaniel Portlock, however, called the bay "Grahams Harbour" (Port Graham) and the translated Russian name, "English Bay," was reapplied to the cove by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1909.
