This seal rookery, called "Starry Ateel," by Elliott (1881, p. 59), has 500 ft. of sea-margin. The Aleut name, according to Putna, (1903, p. 1015), U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), is Tanogtuck'an-algaral'ogray (Tanagtak'an-algarel'ogre) meaning "old village rookery."
