HistoryNamed in 1869 by Commander R. W. Meade, U.S. Navy (USN) (in Baker, 1906, p. 404), who says, "* * * From a remarkable looking streak on the side of the mountain forming the west side of the inlet I called it 'Limestone Inlet' and the mountain 'Limestone Bluff'." This name does not appear on current maps.
