History

Both Egg and Little Egg Islands were named Egg Islands in 1872 by W. H. Dall, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS). The names were applied separately in U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) 1916 Coast Pilot (p.177).
