HistoryEskimo name recorded in 1965 at Barrow by Orth, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and means "becoming hook." The British Admiralty (Brit. Adm.) Chart 2165 drawn in 1853 by Master Thomas Hull spells the name "Nexeura."
