History of Moffet Lagoon

Name derived from Moffet Point and given by W. H. Dall, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), in 1882. This lagoon was given the names "Neumann and Sloss Bays" by U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) in 1888 and was called "Moffet Cove" by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1890 (chart 806).
