History of Traverse Creek

In 1908 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported this stream as Travasey Creek (Covert and Ellsworth, 1909, pl. 4); however, the present name came into local usage and was published by Mettie (1937, pl. 1), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
