History of Holmes Creek

Named in 1931 by Marshall (1956, p. 72), for "the great jurist, whom we both admired so much, and who was celebrating his ninetieth birthday at about that time." Marshall was referring to Justic Oliver Wendell Holmes, 1841-1935.
