History of Dan Creek

In 1901 the stream was staked by C. L. Warner and D. L. Kain for themselves and others. Kain was known to his companions as "Dan" and they named the creek for him (Moffit and Capps, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), 1911, p. 76).
