History

Named in 1924 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) for Richard Urquhart Goode, 1858-1903, "Geographer, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in charge of the Pacific Division, Topographic Branch, at the time the first work in Alaska was executed." See Farquhar (1959, p. 221).
