Flows W from Steller Glacier at the western limit of the Bering Glacier System; bounded by the Chugach NF on the W; center is approximately 15 km (9 mi) NE of Mount Campbell and 35 km (22 mi) W of Hanna Lake.

History

named for George Wilhelm Steller (1709-1746), a German scientist and naturalist, and member of Bering's voyage to Alaska; also named for Steller Glacier from which the lobe (rounded, tongue-like mass of ice) was formed
