History

Named by Lieutenant Commander Moser (1901, p. 387), U.S. Navy (USN), for Lieutenant Hugh Rodman, U.S. Navy (USN), a member of his organization. Lieutenant Rodman had charge of a traverse party from Yakutat to Dry Bay.
