Located in the Tordrillo Mountains; heads on mount Torbert, trends southeast to its terminus at the head of Chichantna River, 26 miles northwest of Tyonek, in the Alaska Range. 24 miles long.

History of Capps Glacier

Named for Stephen Reid Capps (1881-1949), a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) geologist who did extensive field work in the area; name published by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in 1958.
