Near the center of the W coast of Saint Lawrence Island, 3.3 mi NE of Vngyat Point, 19 mi. S of Gambell.

History

Eskimo name reported in 1932 by O. W. Geist, University of Alaska, as "Lhookoovik." Orth was told at Gambell in 1965 that the name "Shlokovik" means "place where sling is used (for getting birds)."
