HistoryFormer mining camp named for an early prospector. I is shown as Quartz Creek by T. G. Gerdine (in Collier, 1902, pl. 12), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The camp was established about 1900 at the beginning of mining in this region. The Dahl Post Office was established here in 1905 and was discontinued in 1913, although the community was active through 1914 (Balcom, 1965, p. 10).
