The easiest way to reach Dennison Fork is off the Taylor Highway.
Heads at 632432N 1423117W, flows NE 60 mi. to join Mosquito Fork to form South Fork Fortymile River, 56 mi. SW of Eagle; Yukon-Tanana High.
Dennison Fork makes for a good class II/III float during spring runoff. Floating it in other parts of the year may require portaging or dragging your boat through shallows. Most people floating Dennison Fork will put in on the West Fork Dennison Fork at 49 mile on the Taylor Highway. Parking gets you within 60ft of the river. There is a campground a quarter mile from the put-in. The float follows the Dennison Fork and joins South Fork Forty Mile River , and then the Fortymile River. Generally take out is at the bridge located at 112 mile on the Taylor Highway as the Fortymile River passes under the bridge.
Prospector's name reported in 1896 by Spurr (1898, pl. 45), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), as "Dennis Fork." by Captain W. R. Abercrombie, USA.
A fair amount of prospecting and drilling was done near the mouth of Dennison Fork, but there is no record of actual placer mining. In 1911 a ditch was dug to work the bench gravels, gold near the mouth of Dennison Fork is very fine grained.
