HistoryNamed in 1952 by Terris More, President of the University of Alaska, who wrote: "I herewith claim by virtue of prior discovery to name two peaks about five and ten miles west-southwest of Mount Bona. I informed regents of the University of my intenttion to name one of these peaks University Peak for the University of Alaska."
