HistoryNamed in 1908 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) for Senator Henry Cabot Lodge, 1850-1924, U.S. Boundary Commissioner in 1903. Senator Lodge was born and educated in Massachusetts, taught American history at Harvard University, and was a literary editor before entering politics. He was a member of Congress from 1887 to 1893 and Senator from 1893 to 1924.
