About

In the Saint Elias Mountains, at the head of Kashoto Glacier, 2.5 mi S of Johns Hopkins Inlet, and 60 mi SW of Haines.

History

Named for Dr. William Skinner Cooper (1884-1978), plant ecologist who performed several vegetation-glacier relationship studies in the Glacier Bay area and was chairman of the committee of scientists whic initiated the proposal to establish Glacier Bay National Monument.
