HistoryEskimo name meaning "freshwater," according to U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1950. In 1966, E. S. Burch calls the lagoon "ohkalicksum Tehsayuh" meaning "rabbit lagoon" after the stream by the same name.
