one of the Barren Is., in Gulf of Alaska, between East Amatuli I. and Ushagat I., 70 mi. NE of afognak, Chugach Mts.

History

Name given by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in 1908 in contradistinction to East Amatuli Island. This island is one of the "Islas de Langara (Barren Islands)" named in 1779 , Don Juan de la Bodega y Quadra and Francisco Antonio Maurelle for Juan de Langara. See East Amatuli Island.
