Mosman Island lies inside Tongass National Forest, and has been used for cultivating Pacific oysters, Kumamoto oysters, bull kelp, ribbon kelp, sugar kelp, and three ribbed kelp.

Mosman Island is composed of mixed sedimentary-volcanic terrane with minerals on Mosman Island including chalcopyrite; magnetite; pyrite; sphalerite; calcite; garnet. Very small traces of gold, and small traces of silver and copper.

They've claimed to live there at one point. But weren't at the time of charges and had also claimed residency outside Alaska.
