About

Located in Plover Islands, 36 miles east of Barrow, Arctic Plain. 2.5 miles long.

History

Eskimo name reported to mean "window," by Leffingwell, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in 1910. Leffingwell (1919, p. 96) states it is "The easternmost of the Plover Islands," and "Probably the same as Ikalue on British Admiralty (Brit. Adm.) Chart No. 593."
