HistoryNamed by Captain George Vancouver, Royal Navy (RN), on April 18, 1794 (wagner, 1937, p. 421). The name "M(ys) Zapadnyy ili Kystotank," meaning "West or Kystotank Cape," was published in 1947 for this feature on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1378.
