History

Named "Middle Point" in 1901 by J. J. Gilbert, US@C&GS, and listed as such by Baker (1906). US@C&GS changed the name to "Sennett Point" to eliminate repetition of a common name. The James Sennett was a vessel wrecked just south of this point in 1901.
