HistoryThis feature was discovered on August 25, 1793, by James Johnstone, RN; named by Captain George Vancouver, Royal Navy (RN), "in honor of George, first Earl of Onslow, one of the friends of the Prince of Wales" (Wagner, 1937, p. 401).
