History

Named in 1882 by W. H. Dall, US@C&GS. This is possibly the same as "Cap Rojnoff (Rozhnof)" of Captain Lutke (1836, p. 261). Shown as "Lagoon Point" on 1890 U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) chart.
