Historynative name published as "C(ap) Komliouck" by von Krusenstern (1827, map 20), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), and as "Cape Kumliun" in 1888 by U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF). According to Captain Lutke (1836, p. 277), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), this peninsula may be the Foggy Cape reported by Captain James Cook, RN, in 1798.
