History of Kiveepuk Bay

Eskimo name reported by Orth in 1965 as "Kavipak" and meaning "jammed" or "packed in," presumably referring to ice. The "Kiveepuk" spelling is found on a map annotated in 1944 by Lawrence Kulukhan of Gambell.
