About

on coast of Beaufort Sea, 5 mi. E of Cape Halkett, at mouth of Harrison Bay, Arctic Plain.

History

Named in 1889 by Captain Stockton, U.S. Navy (USN), for the whaling ship Pacific, whose master, Captain Knowles, first reported this shoal (Leffingwell, 1919, p. 83-84).
